The development and delivery of a range of maps and online
mapping tools for wildfire stakeholders has let to Atherton Tablelands
Geographic Information Services named as a finalist in the Excellence in
e-Government Award for 2009. ATGIS was selected as a finalist for its Northern Queensland
Wildfire Mitigation Project, which provided the online mapping tools to
Queensland Fire and Rescue Service employees, rural fire volunteers and other
wildfire mitigation stakeholders including Department of Environment and
Resource Management's Fire Management Unit and local governments across the
region. "This award was only possible
through the assistance of the wildfire stakeholders that have work with
us," co-ordinator Alistair Hart said. |
