Tinaroo Boating Hazard Maps
The Lake Tinaroo Boating Hazard Chart has been complied to help boating and water ski enthusiasts using Lake Tinaroo avoid areas where damage to their boats may occur. It has also been developed to aid boating enthusiasts navigate their way around the lake.
Information on the chart includes areas of standing timber left over from when Tinaroo Dam was first constructed, restricted speed zone areas, the location of 11 boat entry points around the lake, the designated water ski area on the lake, no entry areas for boats around the dam wall, the Tinaroo swimming pontoon and the Yungaburra water supply pipe and the five Queensland Parks and Wildlife designated camping areas around the lake.
Information on the chart was complied using a combination of historical maps, GPS survey and local knowledge. While every care has been taken to ensure the accuracy of the chart it should not be regarded as the definitive chart of boating hazards on Lake Tinaroo as changes such as a lowering of the lakes water level have the potential to expose and increase the number of boating hazards (in particular, areas of standing timber and shallow water).
The chart is divided into 2 parts, a northern section and a southern section. The charts 2 sections are in pdf format and can viewed and printed using Adobe Reader. To print to scale, both sections need to be printed on A3 size paper. They can be printed on different sized paper but please note while the scale bar will remain accurate, the scale of the chart (1: 32 000 on A3 size paper) will change.
If you find any errors or omissions or have any suggestions for improvement on the chart please contact ATGIS on (07) 4091 8600 or email info@atgis.com.au
